Creating Sales Orders from Quotes

There are a number of ways to create a new sales order from a quote:

• From the quote form
• Record ¨ Make Sales Order, or
• Record ¨ Make B2B Sales Order
  
• From the sales order form
• Record ¨ New ¨ Make Order from Quote (Template), or
• Record ¨ New ¨ Make Order from Quote (Generic Template)
  
• Using Standing Orders Processing the quotes screen

Pricing that flows through to the sales order is determined by:

• Manually creating the sales order from a quote - selecting Yes or No to “Quoted prices to be updated to current pricing details?”
• Standing Orders Processing – system setting in Invoicing,

DefaultPriceUpdating

The initiated date of the sales order is determined by the system setting in Invoicing, InvoicesFromQuotesUseActivateDate.  When unticked the date is the initiated date of the quote (or the due date for Activation in the case of Standing Orders Processing), otherwise the login date is used.

The Record menu in the sales order form displays the source quote number and provides the ability to drill back to that quote when a sales order has been created from quote.

The quote is updated with the status of Sales Order and double-clicking this field loads a search window that displays the sales order(s) created from the quote.  A sales order can then be loaded from the search screen.
